In the Zozonest, the Property General Options main screen is where you establish the core identity and categorization for your entire property database.

Here is an explanation of every option found on that screen:

1. Property ID Before (Prefix)

  • What it does: Adds a static string of text before the numeric ID of every property.

  • Example: If you enter ZOAC-a property that is internally ID #101, it will display as ZOAC-101.

  • Why use it: It makes your listings look more professional and official. It also helps if you run multiple websites, as you can distinguish which site a “Property ID” belongs to.

2. Property Measurement Units

  • What it does: Sets the global unit of measurement for the “Area” or “Size” field of your listings.

  • Common Options: Sq Ft (Square Feet) or Sq M (Square Meters).

  • Why use it: This ensures that when an agent types “2500” into the size field, the website automatically displays “2,500 Sq Ft” on the front end. It maintains data consistency across the site.

3. Property Feature Names

  • What it does: This is a comma-separated list of amenities (e.g., Pool, Gym, WiFi, Garage).

  • The Result: Each item you type here automatically becomes a checkbox on the “Add New Property” screen.

  • Why use it: This is the most powerful tool for your search filters. By pre-defining features here, you ensure that every property uses the exact same terminology (e.g., preventing one person from typing “Swimming Pool” and another typing “Pool”).

4. Property Structure Types

  • What it does: Defines the architectural style or building materials of the property (e.g., Brick, Wood, Concrete, Split-level).

  • The Result: These appear as a dropdown or selection list when creating a listing.

  • Why use it: It allows users to filter properties by construction type. For example, a buyer specifically looking for a “Modern Glass” structure can find it easily if you’ve defined that type here.

5. Property Ribbon Label

  • What it does: This is the text that appears on a “ribbon” or “badge” overlaid on the corner of the property’s featured image.

  • Common Labels: Featured, Sold, Hot Deal, Open House.

  • Why use it: It grabs the user’s attention immediately while they are scrolling through a list of houses, highlighting the most important status of that specific home.

6. Property Ribbon Color

  • What it does: A color picker (Hex code) that defines the background color of the ribbon mentioned above.

  • Best Practice: * Red (#FF0000): Usually for “Sold” or “Urgent.”

    • Green (#28A745): Usually for “New” or “Available.”

    • Blue/Gold: Usually for “Featured” or “Luxury.”
