 Favorite Listings (The Wishlist)

The Favorites feature allows users to “bookmark” specific properties they are interested in, preventing them from losing a great deal in a sea of listings.

  • One-Click Saving: A heart icon is placed on property cards (in search results) and on the single property page.

  • Guest vs. Registered Favorites:

    • Guest Users: Can save favorites via browser cookies (temporary).

    • Registered Users: Favorites are saved to the database, allowing them to view their list on mobile, tablet, or desktop interchangeably.

  • Favorites Management: Within the User Dashboard, users can see their full list, compare saved items, or remove properties that are no longer of interest.

  • Social Proof: Admins can sometimes see “Most Favorited” properties in the backend, helping identify which listings are trending.

Saved Searches & Email Alerts

While Favorites save a specific house, Saved Searches save the user’s criteria. This is the “secret sauce” for high-engagement real estate portals.

  • Criteria Memory: A user can save a complex search (e.g., “Apartments in Barcelona, 2+ Bedrooms, Under €500k, with a Pool”).

  • Instant Recall: Instead of re-entering filters every visit, the user simply clicks their “Saved Search” in their dashboard to see updated results.

  • New Listing Notifications (Email Alerts):

    • When a new property is uploaded that matches a user’s saved criteria, the system automatically sends them an email.

    • This brings the user back to your site immediately, often before they look at competing platforms.

  • Frequency Control: Users can often choose how often they want to be notified (Instantly, Daily, or Weekly).
